Breast Surgery
Cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgeries are designed to elevate a woman’s confidence by restoring and/or enhancing the appearance of the breasts. Our board-certified plastic surgeon in Nashville—Dr. Amaka Nwubah—takes the time to understand her patients’ goals so that she can deliver exceptional aesthetic outcomes.
Breast Lift
Breast lift surgery—also called mastopexy—is designed to elevate and reshape the breasts to produce a more perky and rejuvenated aesthetic. The breasts often begin to sag as a result of factors such as aging, pregnancy, weight loss, breastfeeding, and gravity. A mastopexy firms and tightens the tissue of the breasts while removing excess, inelastic skin in order to minimize ptosis (sagging and drooping), improve projection, and restore a more youthful breast contour. The nipple-areolar complex is usually also be lifted to a higher position on the chest wall, as needed.
Breast Lift with Implants
A breast lift with implants combines the volumizing capabilities of a breast augmentation with the lifting and firming effects of a breast lift to provide a comprehensive aesthetic rejuvenation of the breast. Ideal candidates for this procedure are typically those who wish to improve both breast position and shape while also increasing or restoring breast volume. Dr. Amaka can help you select the ideal implants and incision placements during the consultation process.
Breast Reduction
Breast reduction can help reduce the size and weight of excessively large or heavy breasts. Women with overly large breasts—a condition sometimes called macromastia—often report suffering both physical and emotional burdens. Common symptoms include back and neck pain, painful skin rashes, grooves in the shoulders left by bra straps, difficulty finding clothes and bras that fit correctly, and discomfort when exercising. A breast reduction from Dr. Amaka can help create a lighter, more proportionate bust, enabling patients to live more confident and active lives.

Breast Implant Removal
Breast implant removal (or explantation) is performed to remove breast implants for various reasons. As breast implants do cause some stretching of the skin over time, a breast implant removal is often combined with a breast lift and/or fat grafting. Breast implant removal can, depending on the anatomy and circumstance, result in a breast with loss of volume and/or sagging. This is where a breast lift and/or fat grafting comes into play to offset those changes.
